The South Carolina Children’s Theatre (SCCT) is the state’s largest year-round educational children’s theatre. To advance its mission of educating and stimulating the minds of young people through theatre performance, education, and outreach, SCCT commissioned Craig, Gaulden & Davis Architecture to design its new headquarters in downtown Greenville, S.C.
The plan included a 42,000 SF facility with 300-seat proscenium theater, 100-seat flexible stage theater, flexible performance classrooms, dressing rooms, costume shop, production studio, and administration areas.
Metromont produced nearly 33,000 SF of precast concrete wall panels for the project, including 30,658 of 10” CarbonCast High Performance Insulated Wall Panels with continuous insulation. The wall panels feature a light gray architectural mix with intricate reveal pattern and varying degrees of heavy, medium, and light sandblasting to add depth and interest to the architectural panels.
