John Carson, executive director of AltusGroup, Inc., will deliver a presentation on ARCIS® ultra-thin, lightweight, prestressed concrete panels at the Strategic Development Council Technology Forum 43, Scottsdale, Ariz., March 2, 2018.
Carson’s presentation will explore the engineering, design, fabrication and application of ARCIS precast panels, which feature stainless steel prestressing in their design. His presentation will also include the application of Graphic Concrete technology on ARCIS panels as well. They are lightweight, flexible and resilient in addition to being aesthetically pleasing. The thin but highly durable panels can be used as rainscreens, marine decking, stair treads, decorative walls and other applications.
The SDC Technology Forum is one of the councils of the ACI (American Concrete Institute) Foundation. The SDC provides an in-house forum for the concrete industry where professionals from member companies, including government and academia, come together at the senior level to discuss strategic issues, new technologies and needed research. The organization strives to provide an objective voice that supports innovation and strategizes solutions to industry wide issues.
Carson is executive director of AltusGroup, Inc., an international collaboration of precast concrete companies dedicated to innovation powered by collaboration. He has worked for 35 years in the field of strategic marketing and technical business development fields, in addition to having owned several entrepreneurial businesses.
